Start your own cable company and wire a real American town, one pole, one span and one home at a time.
The job
You're a small-town cable guy setting up your own cable company. Run hybrid fiber-coax out from your headend, hang it on the power company's poles or bore it underground, and light up streets with nodes and amplifiers.
Then sign up the homes before the satellite company does. Over time you go from doing every job yourself to running a company with crews, trucks, a yard and a few loans to pay off.
How it plays
Lay out cable runs, nodes and amps on the map.
Stock up at the supply warehouse.
Work aerial from the pickup or bucket truck, go underground with the directional drill, and splice from the trailer.
Homes on live streets sign up and pay every month.
Hire crews, add trucks, fund research, and buy out local cable companies.
And on the way: faults, storms, strikes on buried utilities, and customers who want their picture back now.
Features
Built from OpenStreetMap data. Start in Douglas, Wyoming, with more towns like Edgar Springs, MO and Cape Coral, FL on the way.
Headend → fiber → node → coax → amplifier → home. Includes pole-attachment agreements, make-ready waits, and calling locates before you dig.
Your pickup with a ladder rack, bucket trucks, a tracked horizontal directional drill, a fiber-splicing trailer and a supply delivery truck.
Houses fill in over time in Suburban, Ranch, Craftsman, Cape Cod and Victorian styles, along with businesses, schools and service drops on every pole.
Get out of the truck, climb the ladder and do the job yourself. Or hire line, splicer and drill crews to do it for you.
A veteran mentor coaches you through your first job at Tri-County Cable, then on to Greenfield, Takeover, Storm Coast and Sandbox.
